coolied
Need a few details about your system before we can really help you, simply saying the Kalyway installer won't work isn't the answer (unless you have a Dell Dimension 4550 exactly like the guy in the video, in which case; again, mention system type). It could be alot of things, I went crazy trying to get the Kalyway install to boot on my system until I realized I had a jmicron ATA controller which made my DVD-ROM not play nice with the OSX installer (I assume that the jmicron driver doesn't work correctly and therefore the installer is unable to load from a DVD-ROM it doesn't know exists, once the BIOS hands off the drive access to the OS it halts); much the same as Windows not being able to find a hard disk to due the lack of a preinstall [F6] driver. In your case since we have no specs, it could literally be ANYTHING. Please list full system specs and we can help you out alot better. EDIT: If you DO have a Dimension 4550 (or a GeForce4MX for that matter) it COULD be the video card.... seems this card makes the 10.4 Tiger version of OSX panic, anyways, it could be doing that to Leopard: from compatibility wiki: Dell Dimension 4550 Method: Normal install with JaS 10.4.8 SSE3 SSE2 AMD ISO with v1p and Defiant patches. Normal GeForce MX 420 video card would panic system. Replaced temporarily with MSI NX6200AX 256MB AGP card. Booted. Sound natively works. Ethernet needs AppleIntel8255.kextfile from previous 10.4.7. See file for install instructions. Hardware: Pentium 4 2.52 533FSB (SSE2, no HPET, no NX) USB 2.0 works (front headers did not; may be the flash drive I was using) DVD-+RW, 60GB Western Digital IDE drive, 120GB Western Digital IDE drive 512MB DDR266 PC2100 RAM (2x256) MSI NX6200AX 256MB AGP card (Original GeForce MX 420 would panic system; working on work-around)" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118818-houston-we-have-a-problem-kalyway-installer-wont-load/#findComment-841495 Share on other sites

coolied
For a system that old/low-end, you MIGHT want to try something like 10.4.6 (Tiger), i've read of people getting that working on the Dimension 2400; but not much about Leopard. whooper
Had the same problem on my son's p4. Then combined to install methods - Kalyway and the new modified boot-132 ( http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=113288 New Modified loader ) - Booted with the main boot CD downloaded there and then at the boot loader screen swopped the CD with the Kalyway DVD - worked fine from there...
