Ok, so to start i torrented a flat image of Mac os X x86 10.5 Leopard, and i installed onto a clean hard drive that i had, and now whenever i try to boot into it it starts a vicious restart loop.

Ok, so i did exactly what the instructions at the bottom of that page told me to do, then when i go to reboot for the first time, it wont boot. It will start booting, then just restart the computer, and it keeps doing that over and over again and i cant do the -v thing cause it moves too fast.

The only thing i see when its loading, is...

"Loading Darwinx86.

/.."

I also tried -x, and it loads a little longer then usual, then just restarts again. :D My friend said his friend changed some dd file or something, but i have no idea wut hes talkin about.

Anyone know what i can do?

Hey guys,

first, I've the same problems like radarandrandy. My PC keeps reooting and reooting - last message "Starting Darwin86"

Are you using a pc or a mac. If you are using a pc then you need a hackintosh install and not a retail install. Try Kalyway or iATKOS or Leo4All installations.

I used Kalyway for installation and after successfully passing the "b0 error" - this behaviour came up.

I'm not deep into this stuff so I thought I've chosen the wrong drivers... so here's what I use..

At the Costumize Dialogue I've chosen the whole Vanilla Kernel, Desktop NVidia Driver, Realtek sounddriver and MBR-EFI as Bootloader (Ive SSE3, a gforce 7900gtx and Realtek onboard sound). (Nevertheless I don't think that this is causing my boot crashes -_- - maybe a hardware specific error?)

YOU would make my day if anyone has a solution for this... maybe a different bootloader or summat?

TIA! :unsure:

Does anyone know anything at all about what either me or AppleMakesMyDay can do? I never got a customize screen, since i installed a flat image, there were no CDs involved, i only had the opportunity to install it, and not customize it yet. However i am seriously considering torrenting an .iso image of Mac osx86, the only thing holding me back is that leaving ur computer running for 2 straight days, and torrenting stuff leaves your computer open to viruses and other junk like that.

@radarandrandy

I think the flat image has no compatible hardware to you're setup. Get a hackintosh install disk and start over. Just like MacNutty said.

@AppleMakesMyDay

Try again. From what i read it could very well be you're setup. As you didn't mention a lot of specifics on Mainboard, Processor, Chipsets etc etc. It is pretty much a big guess that the community can come up with. To my opinion it is a problem with the chosen loader/kernel/driver. Just retry until you find a combination that works for you.

@radarandrandy

What are your hardware specifications. Without these we can only speculate and no one can guide you

The minimal information required is

1. CPU

2. Motherboard model

3. Motherboard Chipset

4. Audio codec

5. Ethernet Chipset

6. Memory (only required if using more than 3GB)

The flat image is generally for IntelCore2 CPUS and Intel chipset based motherboards.

Also another option is for you to get it working with VMWare. The flat image is known to work with VMWare and there are tutorials around on how to set it up.

@AppleMakesMyDay

Install without selecting Audio or Video Drivers. These can be installed after you get the basic bits working. Also Vanilla Kernel requires Intel Core2 CPU. If you are using any other CPU you have to use patched kernel.
