EddieSosa
I just purchased a New Gateway T-6836 and I can't get this to work I've tried EVERYTHING. I get to install and when it reboots it gives me the option to run partition 1 (blank) or partition 2 (iATKOS) and when i try to press enter nothing happens; even if i put -v and then enter or singlemode or anything else; whatever I try goes away and thats it. Here are my specs Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.00GHz, 667MHz, 2MB L2 cache 4096MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM 250GB 5400rpm Serial ATA hard drive Intel GM965 chipset Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 So I tried again and I got a differnt outcome; it still dosnt work but I selected iatkos v4i, darwin boot loader, kernel 9.4.0, Intel GMA 950(for the mouse fix), NTFS-3G, Intel Pro 100/VE. It Rebooted and gave me a dos screen with the numbers posted below. I have no idea what that was but it was something differnt because before I was just getting an "-" or i the error I stated in my before. What are people selecting to get it to work? I tried with the toh kernel 9.2 and again it didnt work and I got the same error >00000080 <00000000 0000000B 000000AF 8<0E8E2CF7 J Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118283-help-i-cant-install-iatkos-v4i/ Share on other sites
marceln
That just means the bootloader doesn't work... It is still not good. You got closer the first time. However, I have the same problem as you (getting the list of partition, selecting the osx having no effect). If you found a solution then please post it here. glocklee
yeah we have the same problem i find something just now. if you just keep pressing enter on it.it repeats to do so. but you can see a glistening line "can't ...." and in no time it disappeared. marceln
I'm gonna try installing it on a clean drive (format it with disk utility, partition it, etc). If this won't work, then the hell with it... I'll try the next version. I'll post here if I get something going. glocklee
the problem seems to be the diskutils in iATKOS v4. check out this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=118924&hl= Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118283-help-i-cant-install-iatkos-v4i/#findComment-842539 Share on other sites
Oraclesrvc
I had the same issue on a HP 6510b. After installing iAtkos v4i I would up with a unbootable OS. My work around took a while but worked. I hope this helps some: 1. Boot and install Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel/AMD, do not ask me where to get it. 2. Do the standard install. I changed the kernel and went with the speedstep kernel. 3. After completing install, let the system go through the normal procedures for set-up. 4. After you are logged in, insert the iAtkos install DVD and click the install button. Once again do not ask me where to get it. 5. When you get to the customize screen, uncheck the kernel and the darwin boot loader. This should leave the kernel and current boot loader alone. 6. Select the drivers and patches you may need and click Done. 7. Finish the install. I tried this twice. Wiping the system clean both times before starting and it worked. The system boots and the System Profile shows 10.5.4 In total it took my about an hour to install this way. I know that seems long but, I was running into serveral issues with both Kalyway and iAtkos and decided to just give it a shot. I am now going to start testing the system and see what happens. This is by no means the way for everybody to go. And I do not guarantee it will work for everybody. I hope this helps. I was able to install several applications (Paraellels, Keyspan Serial Drivers, and others) with no issues. No system panics as of yet. If I run across any issues I will try to document them.
