Jasc_JackRabbit
Hi Guys I am totally new at this, but it seems to me that it would be a good idea to gather all information on installing KalyWay 10 5 2 dvd onto a Intel Pentium 4 Northwood processor, here in this thread. My configuration is as follows: Pentium4, 3 GHZ Northwood socket 478 mPGA SSE2 MoBo: P4AL-800 Chipset: ALI M1683 Memory: 1280 MB RAM Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce mx440 I have made a partition for my OsX in fat32, as described in an installation guide, and have now burned the image to a DVD. But when I boot up in Darwin, no matter what I do (eg. -v -x -s etc etc), it ends with the computer restarting before i even get to the part with language selection! What are your experiences? Maybe you have a P4, maybe you've just read about the problem somewhere, whatever the case, I would appreciate it if you share your knowledge on the matter here. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it seems nobody really has a solution for this to work. Any ideas? Jasc Does anybody know if leopard has been seen working on a Pentium4? Has anybody seen Leopard work on a Pentium 4 system? Anything you might know, that can help, would be appreciated. Hagar
Some reading would reveal that your motherboard is the issue, not the cpu. Donw35
if you want to have any luck at all with this you need to have at least an Intel chipset motherboard. I have installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on a P4 for testing, it worked but not really something that I would use. I have a Gigabyte GA-81915-mf laying around. Would this be better? I want to compile a list of P4 motherboards that do not work for this project. Mine is hereby noted. If anyone knows of a pentium4 motherboard that doesnt work, let me know, and I will make a list. So, the motherboard is of importance, when it comes to installing Kalyway 10 5 2 onto a pentium 4 machine. Is there anything else? Thanks for the help.
