At the beginning of the year, I tried to install 10.4.10 on my HP 6910p laptop. The results were...less than encouraging; the graphics card didn't work, neither of the networking components worked and the sound kept auto-muting for no reason at all. But given recent advancements (now I believe I can get most of those problems fixed), I want to try again. But I'm a little perplexed by the array of choices for Leopard, and I was wondering if someone could lend me a hand to pick which one:

iATKOS 10.5.4 v4.0i

Kalyway 10.5.1

Leo4Allv3

So, which one of the above would be better for my laptop?

Nobody here has the time to go research your laptop specs from HP site with its 1000 different models.

Please post the following specs and someone will surely answer

1. CPU and CPU Speed

2. SSE2/SSE 3 support

3. Total Memory

4. Motherboard Chipset

5. Network card Chipset

6. Sound card codec chip

7. Graphics Card and Graphics memory

8. Harddisk (SATA or IDE)

Oh I see, my bad. Here are the specs for my computer:

1) 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo Santa Roza (which I think is the T7700)

2) SSE2/SSE3 support (I believe it can do both)

3) 2GB DDR2 RAM

4) Chipset -

GM906PA: Mobile Intel® PM965

5a) Intel 82566MM Ethernet Card

5b) Intel Wireless 4965AGN

6) Intel AD1981HD Audio

7) ATI Radion x2300 128mb Graphics Card

8) 90GB SATA Hard Disk

I know that the Ethernet and Wireless don't work natively at all, though there are some 4965 drivers out there. I believe the audio works with the Azalia Audio drivers (but with speakers only) and the graphics may work natively, but just with the default drivers (so I can't watch movies or do anything like that).

1. Intel PM965 requires either AHCI mode to be setup in BIOS for SATA(most laptops do not let you set it) or you can use Leo4allv3 which has modified AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext which supports SATA in IDE mode on Intel Chipsets

2. T7700 is a 65nm CPU. So Vanilla Kernel can work

3. Intel Wireless 4965 has no stable drivers yet. You can keep checking iwiDarwin page

4. AD1981HD will work with Azaliaaduio.kext for lineout only. You can get it here

5. ATI x2300 is fully supported on certain laptops with QE+CI. Read this topic

6. And yes, no support for Intel 82566MM Ethernet yet.

I believe I had to set it to AHCI mode when I was installing XP, because XP can't see SATA HDDs without extra drivers (which I didn't have handy at the time).

4. AD1981HD will work with Azaliaaduio.kext for lineout only. You can get it here

Does that mean headphones? Or just speakers? Because headphones would be perfect.

And which version should I download? iATKOS, Kalway or Leo4allv3? I would rather get it right the first time than have to download multiple DVD images...
