digdugbug
This topic should cover the P5E3 and the P5E, afaik I have a P5E bios revision 0702 installed via kalyway 10.5.2, no updates. Using the vanillakernel. PATA controller is off, JMicron is removed (bad memories from my DS3) Onboard sound was the hardest to get working, see my other posts for like to the kext for sound. P5E3, http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmen...l3=572&l4=0 P5E, http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmen...l3=572&l4=0 Questions I have are 1. does your optical drive "disappear" only to fixed by a power cycle, not a hot reboot. 1. UUID 35 error ? I tried the 10.5.4 combo update and it would KP every time. Didn't really look into that much. Sticking with 10.5.2, works well enough. Graphics are via EFI strings, I tried getting multicard graphics to work but the 7300GT I have just wasn't cooperating. thecodecowboy
My sound worked without any modification so am not sure if your board is similar enough? I patched the Kalyway 10.5.2 image with Chameleon so that I could boot from an IDE DVD drive - this patch includes support for JMicron. I can't provide a link on this forum. The DVD drive doesn't disappear and I don't get any of the errors you describe - sorry! I want to image the install I have before trying an upgrade. Will post back here with results. I used nvInstaller to get my graphics card to work (see sig).
