shadow_kick
Hello all, I recently installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on the following system: Asus P5w DH Deluxe Intel Q6600 4GB Corsair DDR2 EVGA Nvidia 8800GT Superclocked *Using Vanilla Kernel I then updated to 10.5.3 via the Kalyway ComboUpdate, and used the native Software Update in OSX to update to 10.5.4. On the surface, everything appears to be fine. However, when I open any audio or video files, my system will start bogging down. I noticed this while activated Expose during a video, and upon opening additional media files, my system will begin to crawl. Activity Monitor shows nothing out of the ordinary. My CPU barely jumps above 8%, and I have plenty of ram free (around 3 GB showing). Despite this, the entire system turns into a slideshow, and even spotlight becomes unresponsive. I checked my graphics drivers, and tried both NVKush and NVinstaller. At the moment, I'm back to NVInstaller, as I had problems editing the plist for 512 mb Ram with NVKush. Games such as World of Warcraft run flawlessly, confusing me even further, and making it impossible to pinpoint the problem. Perhaps I'm missing some vital BIOS setting? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank You, s_k Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117112-leopard-1054-experiencing-unusual-lagging/ Share on other sites
tadone
I just switched my hard drive cause my old one was slowing me down. Whenever I would open an app like photoshop it would take forever. Now with the new hard drive it is blazing fast Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117112-leopard-1054-experiencing-unusual-lagging/#findComment-829789 Share on other sites
shadow_kick
Thanks for the reply, Tadone. I actually figured the problem out after reinstalling everything. :censored2: I had accidentally switched DVI ports on my 8800GT after moving my computer, which for some reason caused the lagging issues. It wasn't until I switched my monitor cable back to the first DVI port that things started working normally again. Now things are back to working 100%!
