Hi,

When I don't use the -v kernel flag in my com.apple.Boot.plist my transfers from/to smb shares are very sluggish.

I've noticed that with the following wireless adapters:

Linksys WMP300N Rev.2 PCI (recognised as Airport Extreme-Atheros based)

Netgear WG111v2 USB (with drivers from Realtek)

This happens in 10.5.2, 10.5.3 and 10.5.4 Vanilla systems. I can't be sure of the effect on distros like Kalyway, iAtkos or Leo4all.

To be more precise at the time of writing I'm using the following system:

OS: Vanilla 10.5.4/Chameleon, EFI String for onboard audio.

GPU: NVidia GForce 6600GS 128MB (NVinject 0.2.1)

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 Rev. 2.1 ( big ups to LS8 )

CPU: Core2Duo E4600

RAM: 2GB DDR2 @ 800MHz

Network: Wireless Netgear WG111v2 USB (WPA/TKIP)

Wireless ADSL2+ Modem/Router: Belkin N1 with WPA/WPA2+TKIP+AES enabled

If I re-enable verbose boot mode (with -v) wireless transfers from/to smb shares get back to normal throughput rates.

Yup, Linksys WMP300N Rev.2 PCI really slow on iAtkos v1.0, kalyway 10.5.2 update -v or not, to or from anything at all.

Most of the time this adapter isn't connecting to the network, times out or tells me the password is wrong.

Then sometimes it connects.

Can anyone package up all the required kexts or altered plist files I'm supposed to have to get this thing working?

Or at the very least tell me which distro it works with?

Driving me nuts!
