Hi I read somewher this issue is due to system bus speeds on the q9300--not an issue on the q6600--is prcocessor related issue

Are you dual booting with Windows?

Even if not you can try using the command "ntpd –q" via Lingon - see my blog entry on clock time differences.....it may fix your time problem..... :)

Hello Münster, this is Dülmen speaking ^^

Simple approach: Motherboard battery fully functional?

Dual-Boot causes problems like yours easily, got the same problem on my MacPro with Bootcamp. After booting, system clock is 1 hour off until OSX does its timeserver sync. Don't know why this happens but either way, it does happen ^^

Try switching on the automatic update, so it syncs right after booting into OSX. Otherwise, ever checked your BIOS settings BEFORE boot? Maybe your BIOS doesn't save the right time.

Dennis

no dual boot only leopard with the guid partition

I HATE WINDOOF IT SUC*S!!

I too only use it when I have to for Windows-only software that cannot run fully (i.e. with all features at full speed etc.) on Wine in Ubuntu and on Darwine in OS X.....

BTW did you try

Force OS X to resync its desktop clock time at login by using Lingon 2.1 (download from http://lingon.sourceforge.net/) to create a Users Daemon as follows:

i. Run Lingon 2.1 app.

ii. Click on "New" button.

iii. Select "Users Daemons" and click on "Create". Then:

In Box 1 under "Name" enter ChronoSync

In Box 2 under "What" enter ntpd –q

In Box 3 under "When" select run when it is loaded by the system (at startup or login) and at a set intervals thereafter....

iv. Click on "Save" button and logoff and login again as instructed.

@HAXI

stop peddling around Lingon. That is not the solution

@info-lcc

The problem is Vanilla kernel. It has issues with 45nm CPU and loses time gradually. The solution for this problem is to use 10.5.4 modbin patched kernel.

@Gugal, something must have been lost in translation.....I believe that what you meant to say was

"Haxi, please do not suggest to info-lcc and popophobia that they try using Lingon and "ntpd –q" as that is not the solution to this particular problem"

as I am not a door-to-door salesman making a living from selling and recommending dodgy products and solutions to problems...... just a forum member trying to help by offering a non-dangerous suggestion......so thanks for giving info-lcc a definitive answer to his/her problem....perhaps you could start a thread on the solution to this specific problem for other

forum readers/members?

@info-lcc Hope it all goes well for you..... :D
