Alessandro17
Wait a moment, what did Alessandro drink tonight? It is not what it looks, it a serious matter. We have all frozen our Linux environment at least once. I bet most of us, including myself, after trying Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, Ctrl+Alt+F-keys., Ctrl+Alt+Delete, have lost hope and used the power or reset button. Stop! That is going to cause a lot of trouble and data loss, possibly unrecoverable. So what to do? Here is a tutorial, among dozens you can find if you google: http://renesto.blogspot.com/2007/10/raisin...rly-boring.html and more: http://fosswire.com/2007/09/08/fix-a-froze...gic-sysrq-keys/ http://www.brunolinux.com/01-First_Things_..._Elephants.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116651-raising-skinny-elephants-is-utterly-boring/ Share on other sites
iPirate
I hate to ask but why would a system crash cause a loss of a lot of data? Alessandro17
I hate to ask but why would a system crash cause a loss of a lot of data? It most definitely can, if you use the power button, especially with certain filesystems. FrankOS_Scripting
I was kicking off my old Ubuntu 7.04 when he froze. Worst, I was drunk and I come back to my home late at night. And I start gently my PC and I don't know why, I selected Ubuntu. For a while I was in before my desktop makes wave and I took my foot and I give a little kick on my desktop. Everything froze and I crapt off my installation damn.. Hhaha Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116651-raising-skinny-elephants-is-utterly-boring/#findComment-825999 Share on other sites
