RWE
For months, I've been using Kalyway 10.5.2 but this morning I gave a luck to this new release. Because iATKOS 1.0i r2 was the most stable release with my board. My conf: Asus P5B (BIOS rev.1803) Core2Duo E4300 @ 2.7 GHz Asus EN8800GT 512 MB (Dual DVI) 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM Seagate 250 GB 16 MB Cache SATA2 NCQ HDD Asus SATA DVD-RW & LG IDE DVD-RW M-Audio Fasttrack USB Sound card Installation: - I had to configure SATA as AHCI in BIOS. Other way (set to IDE), installation fails. (No need in Kalyway) - Choose 9.4 kernel, SATA patch, NVinject 512 MB and thats all. After installation: - I switched back from AHCI to IDE mode in BIOS. And everything works great except CI/QE support so I used NVInstaller v.51 and voila: I have CI/QE support now. LAN works out of the box. Because of my sound card is class compliant, I have no idea about onboard sound. Good luck to all. I was using the same MOBO as you. Although I kept getting stuck after installation, I would never reach the configuration screen (the screen would grey over and say "please restart your computer") so I bought a new MOBO but had the same problem. I am not sure what to do now, although I am downloading this new v4 as we speak and hopefully it will run better for me. new1phone
No luck so far. I tried iATKos v4i on my Gigabyte P35-DS3G with 8600GT 512 on Quad cpu. Install went fine, but on reboot there was no video. So I tried single user shell and didn't have all the previously downloaded patches .. i am not sure they would have helped anyways .. because this one is supposed not to need EFI .. and mine were efiapplication. Anyways .. I am going to try again. Another oddity -- I have two SATA Drives, Drive0 used to be WDC and Drive 1 Seagate. Bios settings and Wiring are still the same, but the kernel seem them reversed .. it had happened to me once with Ubuntu .. but I had IDE and SATA on that machine .. here both are SATA . If anyone has a suggestion on video issue .. please drop a line .. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116600-iatkos-v4i-experiences/#findComment-846160 Share on other sites
