phor2zero
I ran into this same error installing. At boot, hit a key to enter the boot menu, then hit enter. For some reason this worked for me. It would stall at your error if I didn't enter the boot menu first. Well, this not working for me... and yes, my installer dvd seems not to see the harddisk partitions, only it self !!! It seems really that diskutility from 10.4.4/5 broke partition table, cause I've got 10.4.3 installed and running well on second partition (first one, Fat32, is not used for the moment), and i must use diskutility from 10.4.3 DVD to restore boot partition An other problem is that I could install 10.4.4/5 on third partition but only in english (this is impossible in french, system not starting at all), so I think really something is wrong on this patched ISO, also, it installs boot.efi on partition !!! and to finish: installing in english is not 10.4.5 but only 10.4.4 and no menu option to install 10.4.5 update !!! N.B; I've got an option on installation process from a cracker team talking about Maxxuss did you got the same thing ??? ="we stole it sucker" + "Maxxus owns the {censored}" This iso 3.33 Go rar file with 200 meg ppf came from the little green demon, of course I installed ppf patch before burning the iso !!! perhaps patch was bad installed or corrupted, but it seems I'm not the only one having trouble with this version... I will try to make it one more time but I don't think it will work ... NB 2: at least The 10.4.3 iso from Jas is installing and running very well even in french !!! I had a similar problem: I selected Italian as default language and the installation worked fine in Italian, but when I rebooted I got an error like "Cannot set default language, switching to English" or something like this. I resolved the problem setting Italian again in the System Preferences. You should try to run the install in English but install the French pack, then you set it manually. Thanks for help !!! How can i do that ??? Is there a "French.pkg" and how to change it to french ??? in "International Settings" ??? Cause I tried the second step after a second installation (update with french) but a lot of thinks stay in english... Dark_Elf
You can select the package during the installation (if you chose to perform a custom installation) or I think you can find it in the install DVD. After you installed the language pack go in System Preferences -> International and you get a list of available languages. Select French and drag it on the top of the list, then log off and relog.
