kbaggen Posted July 15, 2008 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Hi All, I have installed "Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel_Amd (sse2/sse3) EFI V8" on my "Asus P3-P5G33 Barebone" and later updated by Kalway CompoUpdated 10.5.3 following Apple Delta 105.4 and all worked fine! The specs om my system is: Core Duo Quad 2.4 2 gb ram Chipset: Intel G33+ICH9 Audio: Realtech ALC833 LAN: Marvell something GFX: MSI Gforce 8600GT 256mb low profile = Hence bypass onboard gfx! During 10.5.2 install, the followin was selected: Realtech ALC833 = SELCTED DURING INSTALL! nvida 256 mb SELCTED DURING INSTALL. Time machine FIX! Intel memeory borad fix! Secondly I ran Kalway CompoUpdated 10.5.3 (followed the instrution is nfo) and got accelaration of GFX back by: After update I run at boot up the command: update -v Then Lepard booted I had Lost QE and CI support. Did the following o restore it: - Installed NVkush from http://diabolik1605.com/DHF/ - Removed NVinject.kext from extensions folder. - Rebooted and typed -f -v - QE and CI came back. Last, I updated though AppleUpdater to 10.5.4. Now I am Running vaillia 9.4 kenel! Usb, sound (both speakers and headphones w/h auto-detection thou), lan, workes out of box! GFX got full accelaration! Sleep works fine! Only issue is power off there often do not power off competly......e.g. fans are still running even more fast and have to push power button for 5 secs to power off totally! Everthing seems to work flawless besides restart/power of. In all a very positive experiance! I am happy! Lastly, I tried other major distro´s bot all got dident worked for me! I have a question: Do you also have a problem withe ejekting CD/DVD´s? Is there a fix?
