I wanted to ask if there is any benefit by buying ram that is a little more expensive ,same specs, from corsair, kingston, mushkin etc... or buying a bit cheaper ram from Crucial. Is there any difference in performance or is the minor price differences purely brand based? Thanks MBP 15' core duo. I've used mushkin & corsair value, both seems good enough... I'm not sure on the MBP but on Macbook X3100 it's still detected as 667... So meaning if you buy a lower latency ram at 800mhz if clock is used at 667 it's latency is much lower but bus speed is the same... Simple benchmark you can try to do is :- openssl speed (it will test openssl calculation speed). So compare it before and after if theres any changes...
