hara78
Hi there! I just built with help of these forums a PC running (freshly updated) Kalyway 10.5.3 (update to 10.5.4 is running while I am typing this). Install took me no longer than putting all hardware together and works without any problems! I am so happy! Thank you very much! This hardware was used: MoBo: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Proc: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz Grafix: ASUS GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 RAM: 2x2GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 Tower: Thermaltake WingRS100 DVD/R: ASUS DRW-2014S1T HD: Seagate Barracuda 250 GB Power: Rosewill Stallion RD500 Kalyway 10.5.2 install using this guide took me about 30 minutes. Solved issues: USB: Plugging a USB-stick or iPod while running didn't work -> fixed with 10.5.3 update. LAN: After wakeup from sleep no internet -> fixed by assigning static IP I could need a hint to my unsolved issues: Instead of showing my Kentsfield-Processor I get a "1.87 GHz Unknown" - any ideas? I would love to get rid of the Darwin bootloader, because I have 2 bootloaders (Windows&Darwin) running. Any way to explain to load the OSX drive automatically? Or why shouldn't I do this? I am still looking for other things to fix, but I am a noob and this might take while, because everything works sooooo good! edit: ups, wrong forums, please forgive me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115784-kalyway-and-me-a-love-for-life/ Share on other sites
Trample
Why not just get rid of the windows bootloader? I'd imagine you could set the windows partition active and edit /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and add <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>Yes</string> Please don't take my word for it though, wait for someone more experienced to reply. =] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115784-kalyway-and-me-a-love-for-life/#findComment-822606 Share on other sites
DrFruit
hi, Wondering if your cpu type issue is similar to what i had a while back. Take a look at my topic that was solved by PoloBear (Please check bios settings. If systeminfo show coresolo, you might have set "limit CpuID" wrong... ) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...ic=95461&hl= regards, pete. hara78
So I changed the BIOS setting: Limit CPUID Max to enabled and OSX shows me now 1.87 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo. That is a step forward but not really a solution.. I will repost this in the proper forums (Leopard postinstallation)...
