This is a continuation of my trials in installing Leo4all on a Dell Inspiron (2006 Sempron 3500+):

My Specs:

Dell Inspiron 1501

AMD Sempron 3500+

MMX (+), 3DNow! (+), SSE, SSE2, SSE33, x86-64

Dell Motherboard, Model 0UW744

ATI Xpress 200 (RS480) Chipset

ATI SB600 Southbridge

1024MB DDR2 RAM

CD+/-R/RW, DVD Combo

Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card

Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller

Ricoh R5C832 3-in-1 media memory card controller

SB600 SATA Controller

Today I finally finished downloading the beta for Leo4allv4. It actually took me to the Leopard Install and its installing as I type. At first it was very slow but then it picked up and its on its way.

I spoke to bhast2 about it and he explained that there is a leak out there, for this version because someone in the beta team leaked it. I am partially glad I found it because its the only version that has actually worked for me.

I will continue to update this thread as I get more results in.

Update1:

The installation went without problems...

When it was done it rebooted, but now I got a /com.apple.Boot.plist not found...

going to look for that fix...

Update2:

I met through jabber with bhast last night and he was kind enough to help me with some ideas.

At first as he was looking around on his notes, I noticed that if I removed the leo4all dvd and i let it boot all the way I would get the b0 error.

so i rebooted in -s mode, and typed in:

fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0

flag 1

update

write

quit

and last

reboot

So the computer reboots and now I get a cute and simple, _ blinking on the top left corner. That was last night at 3:00am

Any Ideas on this? I know to use the search button but if you know tell me... icon_e_smile.gif

Update3:

Ok now I am officially stuck and this is me, requesting for help.

Help!

:)

I have searched on google, leo4all forums and here in insanemac, and I cannot find something that is similar or a result similar to mine. I have a dell with OSX installed and a blinking cursor.

Sigh.

a 100 % solution for u

partition your hard drive with a single name without giving any spaces like use "Untitled" instead of "Untitled 1" .

i had tried many times with this space between the partition name and it always give me the blinking curser.

So u also tried this simple thing

dont forget to disable every thing like wireless , usb legacy support , onboard lan in bios before installation.

;)
