jw73
I am running MAC OSX Leopard on a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Gz processor and 4GB of memory. I disabled the onboard JMicron IDE controller and am using a Pioneer DVR-215D SATA DVD+-RW drive. I used the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD and applied the Kalyway 10.5.3 update. I was able to upgrade to 10.5.4 via Apple Update with no problems. Everything works including my Creative Video IM Pro webcam, ATI Radeon 2900 Pro, onboard Realtek 8111B Gigabit Ethernet, onboard Realtek HD Audio, and Samsung CLP-510 printer. I used the following during the Kalyway setup: - Additional Fonts (default) - Language Translations (default) - kernel_vanilla_92 - NATIT_For_X2000_X3000_Series - HD2900XT_pro_only - Intel NVIDIA VIA ATI HD Audio Controller - RealtekR1000 - Thirds_Applications (default) - AppleSMBIOS-27-Default Installation took approximately 20~30 minutes. The only issues I'm having are: - No 5.1 surround sound - PC will not restart or shutdown correctly. I have to manually hold in the power button for several seconds to get it to turn off. If anyone has any information on this issue on the same motherboard, or a different P35 based board feel free to enlighten me. This is the first time I've messed around with MAC. Previously a Linux user. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115552-gigabyte-ga-ep35-ds3l/ Share on other sites
MacUser2525
Try the Latest AppleACPIPlatform.kext form the thread below since you used Kalyway it should be a matter of opening the Kext Helper and drag the unzipped .kext onto it then follow the instructions and reboot. This should allow you to restart without problems however you still need to hold the power button to shutdown or at least my machine does it can vary between different ones some get a perfect shutdown. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=76404 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115552-gigabyte-ga-ep35-ds3l/#findComment-818107 Share on other sites

BigMacHead
Im not getting any sound at all when I installed 10.5.4 Nothing shows up in the system profille, just says "no built in audio" Ive tried ALCinject, but its still not working. Everything else in my system works 100%, just no sound halp. Seemed to work for me when I picked: Realtek Sigmatel Conextant... ALC883_DS3_hda alc889a_shutdown_hda I checked all three. I think that worked. Now I am re-doing it because I want it to work with EFI and vanilla Retail install. No such luck yet.
