m82a1
hey guys, my system is in my sig, check it for specs last night i got the kalyway disc, to resolve some problems, when i went to install it, i chose the language for installation, then it loaded, and in the area first screen where u see a breakdancer standing on his hand, i can not proceed to the next window, i can not select any of the menus in the top bar, and sometimes the top bar does not does not even load, i have tried another dvd drive, which didnt even get me into the installer, and i can hear my hard drive spin down while the text is being displayed in verbose mode. im aware of some jmicron bug in this release, now this jmicron IC, would be in the dvd drive? is it the controller? verdant
avoiding that because of what people say, how its bad and all, and i gota monthly cap on my ISP (rogers canada) but are there multiple versions of darwin ? or just a main one? As you can see from my blog I have successfully installed both Kalyway 10.5.2 and iATKOS v2.0i 10.5.2 and then updated them to 10.5.3 using Mysticus C*'s 10.5.3 Combo Updater v1.4b..... BUT as Mysticus C* has pointed out in another posting, when you have an AMD CPU some additional decrypting work is required...... and Mysticus C*'s 10.5.3 Combo Updater v1.4b will only work with Intel CPUs... neither Kalyway nor other original updates would work without additional decrypting....sorry..... You need to specifically search for AMD CPU 10.5.3 Updater threads....... m82a1
managed to boot with 9.3.0 kernel, had to install EFI , without EFI, the highest kernel i could boot from was 9.2.0 ok now to read on updating to 10.5.3, with decrypts. could someone make a prehacked combo update consisting of 10.5.4, with some kernels in it? i'd do it if i knew more about mac installers and pre hacking / decrypting Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115421-kalyway-1052-amd-intel-freezes/#findComment-820794 Share on other sites
