I can't tell exactly, but you should not expect too much from this kind of notebook - it has clearly other intentions than developing raw-files or edit images.

But the test of the first ATOM-based cpus showed that they have more power than expected - so, I think it will work to open and develop raw files but it won't be really fast. And I would prefer Lightroom in this case because it is some kind of more lightweight, should make better performance.

I'malso looking for the win to come to germany, the Akoya that was sold at ALDI 2 weeks ago looked like cheap {censored} in siler/black, so I'm still waiting for the original to come.

When I know more I will post here...

Have look on the Build a Perfect Mac for less than $250 thread.

I'm really pleased with the performance of the Atom CPU. The system certainly feels faster than my old Celeron D. It's perfectly usable and the CPU only needs 4 Watts (still cannot believe it).

For light usage like Internet, iTunes, iPhoto etc. the computing power is more than enough.

Use the netbook as a terminal. Open a tunnel back to your much more powerful desktop and use VNC or some other remote console to get back to your desktop to use it's power for editing huge raw images.

Netbooks are for light weight internet access and some small local programs.

Dont expect miracles for less than $500 8)
