MAC Address 00:00:00:00:00:00

Hi, I've installed Kalyway 10.5.2 with tohkernel in my Dell Latitude D610. Unfortunately, the MAC address for my en0(on board ethernet port) was change to "00:00:00:00:00:00".. My real MAC address is 00:14:22:B6:0A:5E.

 

I can set the IP for this en0 and can browse other Windows based PC(compute name only) but cannot connect to them and the LAN as my MAC address is null.. My question is, how to set the "null" MAC address to 00:14:22:B6:0A:5E.

i set mac address manually

sudo ifconfig en0 ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

sudo ifconfig en0 lladdr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

I also tried setting the mac address manually but after i type in the command it asks for a password and then it hangs. It doesn't freeze because i can still exit the terminal and use the mac, but it will not let me type in a password or anything for that matter. Any ideas?

It's not a problem I've had, so I'm guessing here, but have you tried a GFX string/ boot.plist solution; EFI studio will auto generate a string for you

SMC, i haven't tried that and since i'm pretty new to all of this i have no idea how to do this. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Open a Terminal and type sudo -s

Then put in your password.

 

Then use the commands posted above to set the MAC address (minus sudo of course)
