arrgeebee
I just built my first OSX86 box and everything is working great. I've been a windows guy for as long as I can remember. Building this machine was easy thanks to the wealth of information found on these forums. Especially since I have no experience at all with Unix or MACs. I know this post will get lost in all of the requests for help but I wanted my first post here to say thanks to all for contributing to a great resource. This forum is an amazing wealth of information, and typical of most mac users, they are very willing to help and kind to noobs... I'm different that you, thought, in that I've been a mac user since the old Mac Plus, and I was able to get a $599 toshiba laptop running about as well as a $1500 MacBook Pro... Best of luck in your Mac OS adventure. PS - I have a dual-boot with Vista for those (rare) times when I need to use windows. You might want to check out some of the very good tutorials on that if you're interested -- unless you have another machine that you use for windows. arrgeebee
Thanks for the tip mac_maestro. I bought parallels last night and am running XP on that for my work VPN stuff. It runs great. I honestly can't believe that I had never really touched a Mac before. Over the past few days I have been completely amazed with the stability, capabilities and deep application integration they offer. I look forward to more exploration but so far, I'm hooked.
