I've been trucking through the installation process, and I've decided that I won't ask any questions until I first contribute something to the community. So here is how I solved the waiting for root device error. I saw many unanswered threads, so I hope this helps. Situation: Installed iAtkos 1.0 on Dell D630. Updated using the Kalyway 10.5.3 Combo Updater, rebooted with update -v Error: Two yellow lines declaring that the AHCI driver was not loaded properly, then farther down a line about an ItunesPhoneDriver, and finally repeating instances of "Still waiting for root device". Solution: Rebooted into BIOS, and changed the SATA drive mode to ATA, and disabled multi-core. Rebooted and booted with update -v.
