Sexy.Hot.Mac
Ok. ive just registered with this forum so i could post. (i have been browsing it as a guess for a month and a half now!) Basically i have the Kalyway 10.5.1 &10.5.2 DVDs, and also iATKOS 10.5.1 v1.0ir2. i burnt them all without adding/taking away anyhting. And none of them boot! (wtf??) Just to clear things up i dont have OSX installed. its the installer that wont boot. Ive noticed that the 10.5.2 Kaly DVD reboots at one of the many 'TMsafteynet.kext' (time machine) lines. I have used the -x, -f, -s, -v flags. tried speedstepkernel & modbinkernel. and still will NOT boot. I havent tried the iATKOS in a while so if you want to know more about wat happens ill give 'er a shot agian. My system specs are as follows ASUS K8V-MX X-series motherboard AMD Sempron (single core) that clocks in at 1.66GHZ Lite-on DVD Burner (no dual layer) 16x (ithink) Mitsumi 52x CD burner 40gb IDE HDD (winXP/Vista) looking to completely replace windows eventually with OSX 20gb IDE HDD (formatted as HFS+ using MacDrive) (Older HDD) currently going to be the destination for OSX then after i move files from XP illmove OSX to the 40gb integrated video, sound, ethernet, usb 1GB DDR RAM SupraMAX 56i modem (can be removed if needed, i dont use dial-up anymore) funky red LEDs hope i can find an answer, i didnt want to post and clog up the forum with another stupid help request, but i cant find an answer... -thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115100-dvd-installer-reboot-amdasus-no-solution/ Share on other sites
pmcnano
Does your CPU have SSE3 features? What chipset does your mobo have? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115100-dvd-installer-reboot-amdasus-no-solution/#findComment-815431 Share on other sites
Sexy.Hot.Mac
Yep, I checked and it has SSE2/SSE3. Also i tried the leo4allv2 distro with no luck... CPUZ said that i have a VIA K8M400 Chipset, with american megatrends BIOS v0204 dated 10/14/2005. pmcnano
I think the problem is your chipset, check on compatibility lists, maybe it wont work or you need to inject special kexts Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115100-dvd-installer-reboot-amdasus-no-solution/#findComment-816512 Share on other sites
Sexy.Hot.Mac
Ok. thanks. off to google i guess. lol so im going to have to search for a VIA K8M400 kext? then add this o kalyway's DVD? but how come it would load some kexts then quit at the TimeMachine Safety Net one? anyways thanks... ill search tomro after work. its past 12 here and i gotta get up tomoro EDIT: Ok, so i couldnt wait till tomoro, i did a ten minute search on google and came up with nothing at all. there was some stuff about audio kexts for tiger, but nothing else. Ill conitnue tomoro, but if anybody has any links or help or free liquor i would gladly appreciate it. Gujal
As you are on VIA chipset, I think you need theStevo's patch. Read his thread here on getting Kalyway installed on VIA Chipset based motherboards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115100-dvd-installer-reboot-amdasus-no-solution/#findComment-818404 Share on other sites
Sexy.Hot.Mac
Thanks, this sounds like something that might work. Ive read a few of his release threads, im not sure if this would be for my board? the VIARhine patch would be great, because i have a Rhine ethernet adapter. but it doesnt sound like it would be for my mobo. anyways. im dl'ing the patch right now, so ill try it out...
