skyhighmac
So I went to turn on my macbook this morning, I press the powerbutton, and it is stuck at the grey apple boot screen with a spinning progress indicator. any suggestions on how to fix this? (I have tried resetting the power management thing (cant remember the name, and safe mode) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114878-macbook-help/ Share on other sites
Cheese N' Pancakes
insert apple mac os 10 dvd into the drive, if it manages to boot repair permissions and check the drive for errors. then from the apple menu select to boot from /root (macintosh HD whatever it's called on your computer) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114878-macbook-help/#findComment-813570 Share on other sites

djet
Hmmm.... I don't think there's that much else you can do... unless you happen to have another partition with like Windows or something that might could run repair on your Mac partition, or you could download the DVD and burn it (although that may not be something you wanna do on your vacation.) skyhighmac
Luckily my dad is at home and he is going to overnight it here. Hopefully that will fix it! now its cycling through three different screens each a different shad of blue. One blank, one with my mouse, and one with a progress indicator, any suggestions on how to get past this?
