zurie
Fatality FP-IN9 / default bios rev 16 Kalyway 10.5.2 / kalybaby Nforce kernel / installed SATA / DVD IDE drive 4gb ram / ok.. installed kalyway 10.5.2 with 0 audio and 0 graphics drivers. then went in and loaded ALC 888 with HDpatcher 1.20. Also loaded USB fix 1.3 (to fix hotswapping USB). Everything looks pretty good. 1) onboard LAN = Marvell 88E1116.. i am 99% sure. I went into device manager on WIN XP and got the DEV ID and etc but when i Look in the .plist I see the DEV ID and vendor ID.. so its 100% in there at the get go... 2) Linksys TX100v4 (i think the model # is close, i am sorry writing from memory) This one I am using Tulip.kext 1.2 and also in the .plist i see the vendor ID and device ID, so this one also should be 100% 3) Linksys TX100v4 #2.. i have a second linksys from 4 years ago i found in my closet and it is 1 # off in the device ID but it is ALSO in the plist so it should be 100% so 3 LAN's to play with... a) I can boot WIN XP and my onboard LAN works (if i enable it in the bios). I get internet, etc, etc all the fun stuff. BOTH my linksys TX100 cards show up in the device manager with a "!" in them. I dunno if this is just because I never installed the drivers on XP (which I didn't) because I didn't have the driver Cd and it asked for it, etc... now.. in LEO on 10.5.2 when I boot up and goto network I don't get any devices at all, cept PPP VPN, and PPoE, or something like that.. 0 ethernet. I am usually going in and deleting the .kext extensions, clearing my cache, setting permissions on a file on the desktop like - tulip.kext setting ownership, and then kextload tulip on my desktop. I then get a LOG in my terminal that shows 10 different devices that load, etc, etc but when I go into network settings I still don't ever see a new device.. even clicking the "+" it is this way for both linksys cards as well as the onboard LAN. is there any drivers, kext, or anything I should have installed at default with KALYWAY 10.5.2 before I did the tulip.kext files? or the Marvell 88E1116 kext? I feel like I don't see anything popup or load or work so maybe I am missing a crucial step or some step at all? and I know my onboard lan works in XP and I am pretty sure both the linksys TX100's will work in XP if i put the driver CD in, they both light up when plugged in with eithernet, etc... anyone have any suggestions or ideas? thanks!!! - ps I would PREFER not to run the horrible kext that causes 1=cpu and has kernel panics, which may be the marvel? I do pro audio and stability is a must as well as precice USB. downloading is strictly for minimal web surfing or updating plugins / software. ps ps ps. I ordered a Realtek off ebay for 5 bucks.. supposedly the PCI card that doesn't require a driver to run? will that work OOB just pluggin it in, or do I still need some default LAN driver that i didn't install. etc.. PS PS x 4 (sorry) Can I pull those drivers from the LEO CD? using a .pkg unpacker or from IATKOS or some random disc or am i better off gettin the kexts online and puttin em in.
