BigPimpin
hpthet HPET is something completely different from hyperthreading and neither of them are abbreviated that way. C2D processors don't have hyperthreading. comatron
figured that out too. the "enhanced halt state" isnt kernel-panic-relevant either. i just need to get the nx-flag / execute bit disable function activated in bios ... its not present Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114417-i-need-a-bios-hacker-lenovo-3000-n200/#findComment-811564 Share on other sites
Azurael
Oh, you've got broken XD too. That's kinda good and kinda bad - because I assumed that it was just an initialisation bug with the T5250 CPU I've got in my N200, and now I know changing the CPU won't fix it. On the other hand, it's good because it means if we find a way to get in contact with them and all {censored} about it, Lenovo might fix it. I posted on their forums about this issue and got no useful response. comatron
... did the same in forum - in SEVERAL posts and VERY detailled. and i phoned them up twice (i even reached second level support). i must say, lenovo is a crappy company. they deactivate cpu-features and they REALLY don´t care about customers having problems. i waited some time to post this because i was sure, lenovo would do ANYthing about this - wrong! my next notebook will be NO lenovo - thats for sure. and instead caring for customers and spendin 5 minutes recompiling a bios, get your image damage and lose some dollars by people, reading this LENOVO YOU S*CK *SS !!! 00diabolic
wow I just found this but I wonder if any of this would help with the overheating issue in OSX. If the fans are not running when booted into OSX you will overheat. Anyone with an N200 should know about this problem. Please see: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=101271 I will update my topic and see if a solution to this long outstanding problem can finally be MADE.
