Kalandrak
Hi all, Ive got the following disk setup: Raid 0, 2 160gb disks. Single 200gb disk. As far as i know the raid will not work, but leopard does not see my 200gb disk either, its partitioned 160gb NTFS and the remaining 40gb is un allocated. Not sure really what to do, any help would be appreciated Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114074-leopard-cannot-see-my-hard-disks/ Share on other sites

.:Eagle:.
You would be format your HDD unalocated in HFS+ to view your disk in Install menu !! To format this HDD when you are in BootDVD in finder search diskutility and format your disk in HFS journalise (HFS+) When you quit and you return un install menu your disk will be detected !!... Enjoy !! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114074-leopard-cannot-see-my-hard-disks/#findComment-808958 Share on other sites

Gujal
Post your complete specs so someone can help. a Harddisk is not recognised because of the Controller chipset on the motherboard and not by the capacity of the harddisk (useless spec) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114074-leopard-cannot-see-my-hard-disks/#findComment-809749 Share on other sites
Kalandrak
Ok, the only reason i stated the size of the disks was too indicate the partitions i had on the disks. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP35 DS3R Chipset: Bearlake P35 Storage Controller: Intel ICH9R sata raid controller. Intel Pentium E2180 (conroe) 4 Gig DDR800 Thank you for your help. Gujal
Does your BIOS allow to set the SATA mode to AHCI. WIthout setting as AHCI most distributions wont see your Harddisk. So first thing you can try is to set the SATA Interface to AHCI. If this is not possible, Leo4all v3 comes with a modified AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext which would recognise SATA harddisk in IDE mode (rather than AHCI Mode) Which Distro did you try Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114074-leopard-cannot-see-my-hard-disks/#findComment-811503 Share on other sites
