sunlite
hi, i got a little problem. when i boot up my osx-system and then i don't touch it for a while the system goes in to a kind of sleep-state. automatically. and that always happens when i don't touch it for more then 5 or 10 minutes. but i turned off the screensaver and all it's options and i turned off the energy saver with all it's options. but when i don't touch the system for a while it also gets in to a sleep-state. do you know what i forgot to turn off? i want my system not to go in to a sleep-state after not being touched for 2 or more hours. thx
vaporATX
Did you try resetting the SMC?
juunbug
Try resetting the SMC, also the PRAM (Apple, Option, P and R at startup, release after 2 chimes. Read; http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 ) verify your settings are correct in energy saver. If they are, and they still aren't taking effect, then pull the system preferences plist, located ~\library\preferences\com.apple.systempreferences.plist. Trash it, securely empty trash from finder menu, restart, and verify your energy settings again and test it. If it's not working after that, create a new user account, name everything test, and try it in a new user. If the issue persists in the new user, you will need to archive and install preserving user settings.
