Hi

I've managed to install Kalyway 10.5.3...

Everything is working fine, sound, video, network... everything i need is working.

The only "problem" I have is on the boot process...

I can only boot my machine with the Update -v -f command...

I can't figure out what i've missed... dahhh :)

Someone can help me on this...

I don't know how to fix it but you can add this parameters at kernel options in com.aple.Boot.plist and then you don't have to type it each boot. "-f" is not enough? I had a problem like this before and only -f made my sistem to boot, I fexed it with reinstall.

the '-' commands are linux flags -v means "verbose" or in human terms: 'tell me what your doing' it makes that (mostly nonsense) text stream down the screen before the GUI starts, it's used to diagnose where the processes has gone wrong

-f is (or always has been with other commands) "force" - IE to carry out the command even if permisions etc would prohibit it... for instance if you type 'rm -f' on a linux box you are telling it to delete something without any more warnings or even if it shouldn't.

I'm not sure the -v would make a differnece but the -f could be making the boot work by bypassing some error your encountering.

it's not a fix I'm afraid but when I started doing this I didn't know anything about the -stuff so I throught I'd shed some light on it.

Hi guys!

Thank's for your repply....

razerbug - I know what it means the -v and -f in environment... and the verbose mode dosen't show any "major" error...

The problem here is if i don't use the update -v -f in the darwin bootloader my hackintosh keeps rebooting... if i use any other, for example only -v -f it... keeps rebooting!

:)

Stange but true...

i will try to find something and inform the people who have the same problem!!!!

Regards to you all my friends!
