gjr5017
Hi. New member here. I was asking questions on a different forum and they told me to come here because this is the place to be for hacintosh type stuff. I want to install OSX on my Compaq Presario Laptop. I have downloaded the DVD for Kalyway 10.5.2 AMD/Intel. It boots up fine when I run the DVD but when it asks me to select a destination to install Leopard there are no options on the screen. I have made a separate partition for leopard and its a FAT32 filesystem for the time being. I tried going into Disk Utility too to format the Parition to HFS+ but it didnt show anything but my DVD drive. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Computer Specs AMD Turion64x2 2 GB RAM 160 GB Hard Drive (IDE I believe, not sure the brand but I can look it up if necessary) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113640-no-available-hard-drives-to-install-on/ Share on other sites

gjr5017
I'd rather not because I want it to dual boot with Windows XP....I have so much stuff on XP that I don't feel like having to go back through and redo everything and set everything back up. .:Eagle:.
Ok ! But some people that had same problem in same situation, Multiboot, resolve her problem to format entire HDD !! If you cannot format it's your own choice. Enjoy !! gjr5017
What would be the best way to go about formatting my entire hard drive and setting it up for like 100 GB allocated to XP (NTFS) and 50 allocated to Leopard (HFS+)? newbmac
Partition it into 2 drives. Drive 1 has Windows, drive 2 for OSx86. You will need to use Chain0 method to control multi-boot with Windows on Drive 1. Run the Windows XP install disk to re-install, and during it there is a step where you can create and delete partitions. newbmac
Care to elaborate? Elaborate on what? Yes it will work on SATA drives. Suggest you start reading about OSx86 as these are very basic questions http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113640-no-available-hard-drives-to-install-on/#findComment-808637 Share on other sites
