After updating my Intel C2D OSx86 10.5.3 with the 88MB 10.5.4 file I have some issues, I hope you can help me:

- The right button of the mouse doesn't work over the icons of the dock bar. It works in everywhere but not in this place.

- The Safari, expose, ical, ichat and mail applications crash. The ical icon of the dock is trasnparent.

- It apears a new application named "address book" but doesn't work.

I updated all with pacifist escept the kernel files. Later I tried a normal installation of the package but that didn't solve the problem.

What should I do? :P

If you keep an older kernel, you have to keep System.kext file compatible with that kernel as well. Otherwise if you are vanilla compatible, just use original kernel+System.kext from 10.5.4

I think I'm Vanilla compatible. I tried first to install the update skipping the kernel with pacifist, but when I saw the problems I retried as a normal installation. That didn't solve my problems. It's odd I'm the only one with this problems. Also I repaired permissions. All works except the Apple aplications I think.

In this momment I'm "downdating" to 10.5.3 combo by kalyway manually with pacifist.

Oh oh. My system is realy ill. After the "downdate" I lost my desktop. The "about this mac" and "software update" don't work so I can't see if I really am in a 10.5.3 Leopard.

I think I'm fuc#ing my system for momments.

Could I repair Leopard not loosing my data with the install DVD?

As you all should know you should use time machine to back up all data before doing any type of software upgrade. Also use the OSx86 tools app to back up your Kexts just incase :P that way if you {censored} up your upgrade you can just revert back to what you had and try again. My advice to everyone that is having issues is to to a complete reinstall using leo4all or what ever you use and then back up everything and then!!! upgrade to 10.5.4 I have a Gateway MX6956 with an intel C2D which I normally have to jump through hoops to get to work with updates but I had no issues what so ever and just used the downloadable 10.5.4 standalone to update and it works wonderful I am having issues with wireless but i think that is more due to a bug that apple introduced in this release

I can't use time machine. The things came wrost. The spinning wheel of death last forever at the boot. No solution using the -x -v flags at boot.

Finally I ended reinstalling Leopard from zero. Updated with kalyway combo update to 10.5.3 and then to 10.5.4 this time with software update (53MB). The other time I used the 88MB update and you know the story... Then reinstalled NVInstalle4.1 with pacifist to recover quartz extreme. Now all seems be right.
