Hey,

I've downloaded a ready-to-roll patched .iso version of OS X titled 'OSx86 10.4.3 8F1111A Patched Jas v4.2b'. I've burnt it to a DVD and attempted to install it on a few machines, two old fujitsu siemens which failed and one new fujitsu siemens which got to the install screen (just wanted to check it actually worked, so I didn't continue to install it).

I'm now at home attempting to install it on my PC;

AMD Athlon 2600 SEE2

Abit NF7-S rev. 2

Two 80GB HDD on IDE to SATA converters also tried one 30GB IDE

2 x 256MB OCZ DDR

ATi Radeon 9800 Pro

I get the same error message on the first two fujitsu PC's as I do on my home PC, both trying to boot straight from the DVD, or from an emulated .iso image in VMWare:

I've had a search through the forum and attempted the suggested fixes I could find based on similar problems to mine, but to no avail

If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks for your time,

-Ross

No takers? :)

I'm currently getting 10.4.4, am I likely to have more/less success with this one?

Thanks again,

-Ross

If you're going to get 10.4.4, get the one on piratebay called "Mac OS X 10.4.4/5 osx86 Patched Bootable DVD"

  • 10 months later...

That particular processor doesn't support SSE2, even if it does report it. I used to have a desktop with that exact same processor, and I got a copy of the first OS x86 that was hacked back when it first came out. I managed to download it, and was all set to install it. And when I got to the screen where it was to start up, it gave me that exact same error.

So, you're more or less SOL. You can look at some other AMD's that will fit your socket (the Sempron's support SSE2, just make sure you get the Prescott(?) core)
