I installed 10.5.2 calaway on my system and the install completed successfully. after I reboot I am prompted with a the darwin boot loader and as soon as it counts down or i hit enter a couple times to speed it up the screen just goes blank for a second or two and then my system reboots. Anyone have an idea what would cause this or what I can do so it doesn't automatically reboot like that?

System specs:

MSI nforce 650i SLI board

Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.5 GHZ (I tried removing the OC and made no difference)

8GB of DDR2-800 RAM

PATA LiteON DVD-+RW drive

Geforce 8800 GTX 768MB

Areca ARC-1231ML raid controller

Ok, I found a thread which suggested to use the different kernels so I tried them all.

The vanillakernel and kabylkernel just reboot my system and all the other kernels seem to just hang at the same place:

nforcekernel:

speedstepkernel:

sleepkernel:

What kernel does the DVD use by default? I had no problems booting the kernel off the DVD.

Wow, I didn't know Calaway made a hackintosh distro! I thought they just made golf clubs! :P

I remembered the release name based off its sound and since "Kalaway" has no other meaning to me than this release, I have never had to write out this word before. I guess I should have verified the spelling before hand but I know the difference from a K to a C (both would be pronounced the same way) should not be confusing people.

I would appreciate any responses that have an idea of what might be causing this and/or a possible work around. Heck, even if someone could just tell me what kernel is loaded by default from the Kalaway DVD would help me out.

its "KalYway" and the default kernel is the first one on the kernel list in customize "sleep" if i recall correctly. You can also click on the "defaults" button in the customize screen and it will revert back to the default.

somewhere near the middle of the page is someone with the same problem. The recommnded solution was to flash the bios or use another installer. Its an Asus but hangs at the same point. HTH.
