Quick firewire question...

Will any firewire card work, is that why there isnt anything about them on the wiki..

not positive, but my OHCI compatible onboard 1394 works fine, now that I enabled it in the BIOS

there are a few entries in the wiki - search firewire or 1394.

That might need a driver, but at that price, it can't hurt to try.

VIa is supposed to be supported, but ADS will. They are made for Mac and Pc, so you can use it for both, and mine works great!

I just threw in a $20 ebay firewire card I snagged a few years back....I mean really, they don't come any more generic than this. Regardless, it works great, already capped a bunch of DV vids through it in Final Cut

i've got firewire port on my Creative Audigy2..

sound card isn't working but the 1394 port is ok =)

I have 2 FireWire cards and both work, one is onboard (VIA) and another is on my Audigy PCI card.
