rschultz101 Posted June 28, 2008 Share Posted June 28, 2008 problem: everytime I open apps,... always , disc spin up delay !!!??? what's the point of having a fast desktop,... when you always have to wait ,... in power saving , selected , sleep disc whenever possible, to save power, and noise got about 6 sata discs, and do want them to sleep, and stay sleep anyway to fix this ?! iPirate Posted June 29, 2008 Share Posted June 29, 2008 could the problem be that 1: you have noisy discs, 2: they're always not spinning, and 3: whatever you're doing is not already loaded into RAM? rschultz101 Posted June 29, 2008 Author Share Posted June 29, 2008 there even imac mac pro users with that problem,.... external drives behave a little better, and spotlight is not the solution,... there got to be somewhere some settings to disable hitting all the drives, for every action,... mrheat Posted July 3, 2008 Share Posted July 3, 2008 i have the same problem in my Laptop Maxdata pro800iw... core2duo t5300 945 chipset the disk is spinning down after a few secs of inactivity then spins up upon menu click for example. any solution to turn off disc spin down completely? the setting in power savings "if possible put drives to sleep" is already turned off. in bios i couldnt find an option for this. anyone have a solution for this problem?
