r0fflew0ffles
I achieved a successful Kalyway 10.5.2 install by including the patches concerning APIC and ACPI and disabling APIC/ACPI in BIOS. This setup has prevented me from using both cores of my E6750 and disabled successful awakenings from sleep. I've also heard that Vista is dependent on APIC, so I want to know if there's a way to enable APIC and ACPI so that both OS's can function correctly. r0fflew0ffles
Ok, now that I've got the dual boot setup working, I have found that it is true that Vista requires APIC. So, I have tried using noapic, nolapic, and acpi=off for OS X while keeping the APIC ACPI options enabled in my BIOS, but that just results in a crash in Darwin. Any ideas? PhunkMaZ
Same problem here with iPC 10.5.6 on ASUS P5QL Pro (BIOS 1004) + C2D E7400. With ACPI APIC Support enabled system reboots at Darwin. Also there's only 1 core active. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/112776-apic-and-acpi-problems/#findComment-1373817 Share on other sites
