neztik
I recently upgraded my 10.4.4 system to 10.4.5 using maxxuss guide booting with my 10.4.3 volume and then upgrading the mounted 10.4.4 volume. After the upgrade my onboard GMA900 does not let me change the screen resolutions in the Display Panel. I can force 1280x1024x32 into the Boot.plist, but it will not take 1680 x 1050 x32. I would like to have the full resolution, if not I might have to go back to 10.4.4. I would assume that I can change some .kext files to fix this. Any help would be greatly apreciated. neztik
I just tried that and it did not work. I also tried all the AppleIntel's. Not sure what other .kexts could be controlling it. Thanks anyways. Still looking for a solution. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11275-1045-upgrade-gma900/#findComment-71008 Share on other sites

neztik
Yeah I would also like to know which kexts contain specific GMA900 information. I tried all the *Intel915* stuff and the AppleIntelIntegrated. Still no go. I do not want to copy all the 10.4.4 kexts, that would seem to defeat the purpose of the upgrade wouldnt it? So I guess I need to check all the kexts and see which ones where actually changed with the 10.4.5 upgrade. Unless someone already has a list of updated kexts. neztik
First lets figure out what you mean by it works. Yes my GMA900 says it supports everything like QE / CI whatever. But I cannot change the resolution via the Display Panel in System Preferences. I also cannot force the 1680 x 1050 x 32 setting via the Boot.plist, it will just default to 1280x1024. If you are saying that you can use all resolutions via the Display Panel please post a file by file list of what .kexts / bundles / whatever your replaced. I must have missed one. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11275-1045-upgrade-gma900/#findComment-71509 Share on other sites

Thanks I was only presented with the 1024x768 in display props upon my first reboot after applying the 10.4.5 update. I am now able to change resolutions within the display panel of system preferences. I will post a listing when I get home from the machine. I will check when I get home, but I thought it was only the IntelIntegratedFrameBuffer that had to be overlayed. I remember posting to the guru section the first time that I got it to work. http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=10092 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11275-1045-upgrade-gma900/#findComment-71565 Share on other sites
