Trying to install Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel_Amd (sse2/sse3) EFI V8 on Gateway MX7120

Hey everyone, I am farily new to the Hackintosh world (but not so new to the Macintosh world), and I seem to run into the same problem that a lot of people do when trying to install Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel_Amd (sse2/sse3) EFI V8. The dreaded "Still waiting for root device" error. I have tried minor fixes such as reburning the DVD at slower speeds and adjusting some bios settings but all to no avail. I'm not able to use a Mac (my friend's 250 lb. ass broke my Mac Book Pro) for any kind of kexts work, nor am I too familliar with them anyway. More or less I am asking for any solutions that may be viable to someone who is in the situation that I am in. These are my system specs:

System:

Gateway MX7120 (Notebook)

Mobile AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (both SSE2 and SSE3 compatible)

Gateway Motherboard (7100 series)

Pheonix BIOS ver. 65.08.00

1GB of ram (2x 512MB PC2700 166Mhz)

ATI Radeon Xpress 200M series Video Adapter

Conexant AC-Link Audio

I am not sure if you need any other information from me. I am pretty sure that both the Hard Drive and DVD Drive are both IDE/PATA. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
