I thought it was all going waaayyy too well! I downloaded and burnt the JAS 10.4.8 pack which all installed as it should but once it rebooted, all it seems to do is go to the grey apple loading screen and then present the "Restart your computer" dialog. I've tried reinstalling it several times choosing different options but it always seems to go the same way. Here's my machines specs:

Custom PC

Motherboard: Jetway 865pedap.html

Processor: 2 x Intel Pentium® 4 2.8ghz Hyperthreaded

RAM: 512mb

HDD: 233GB Maxtor

Its a bizarre spec I know but its an old machine that was custom built a while back by our IT support at the company I work for. After reading through the forums here I haven't been able to find a solution so I though the best thing would be to take a screen shot of the errors (in verbose mode). Now I can't see anything really going wrong here but it doesn't seem to want to boot:

As I say, I'm not really sure what is going wrong. First thought was the graphics card (NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 4000) but it still finds this ok. I've ordered a new graphics card as I was going to upgrade anyway, the NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GT 256MB PCIE after reading up on it on a Lifehacker guide.

Hopefully I've got enough info there to go on. Anybody know what might be going wrong?

Look up just below the count you have two errors. One extension failed to load and a module. Then further down your display failed to start. When looking at it you can see that all of the errors are related to the graphics (NVDA). What I would do is check your card for compatibility (there is a list somewhere on this site), then if it is make sure that you have selected the correct drivers on the install screen.
