Hey Splintah,

I bought one of these nice barebones last month. My plan was to install Tiger on it but I tried for two weeks without success ...

It always get stuck during the boot process. The issue seems to be related to the ACPI tables which are not well implemented in asus bios. I tried a lot of different config with Kaly and Leo4All release 10.5.2 (exchange SATA devices with PATA, add PATA DVD, remove 2gb of RAM, tweak bios, command line ...)

My config : Asus t3-P5G31 (release 1) + C2D 8200 + 4 GB RAM + 500 GB Sata HD + sata DVD

I will try asap Leo 10.5.3. Hopefully I still have my MB and MBP to enjoy Leopard :D

This barebone seems to have the notorious GMA 3100 graphics chip, which is not supported for hardware acceleration. Another problem is that the GMA 3100 somehow conflicts with the ICH7 hard disk controller, making OS X unable to boot. This problem is easily fixed by throwing in a proper NVidia graphics card.

After that, this barebone should make for a perfect hackintosh!

I can confirm that i have this barebones working with an nvidia 7900gt. I am using vanilla kernel. The sound works fine with kalyway 10.5.2 amd intel, but ihave not tested the ethernet. All in all seems like a good hackingtosh.I can confirm that i have this barebones working with an nvidia 7900gt. • 2 weeks later...

More details to post about this barebones kit. I have upgraded from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 using the kalyway combo update. i had some difficulties getting stuck at the bsod prompt, but rebooting twice and typing update -v allowed me to boot fully.

Also i have swtiched to a 7600gt nvidia graphics card and this works, with the caveat that the upgrade will disable quartz extreme and rotation and stuff if you use the nvinject kext. I used the natit and so it went fine.

the 10.5.4 update proceeded fine doing this from the apple update tool.

Very happy with it. Just bought an msi wind and going to install kalyway on that.

I have the T3-P5945GC. Looks pretty similiar.

Started off with 2.6ghz Dual Core. Using kalyway 10.5.2. Everything works. Mine came with the GMA950 and the ADI sound chip. Ethernet works, Video works, Sound works (might need to get the model off the sound chip and search the fourms, I didn't quite remember), sata works, ide works. Did not have much problem getting it running with osx.
