nate256
So I have a power mac G4 that a friend gave to me. Now when i got it, it had firevault and the guy wouldn't tell me the password so I had to reinstall Tiger on it. Now after I installed it under system prefrences it does't see any ethernet or when I hook it up to my modem. So i updated to 10.4.11 adn still no ethernet! So i was wondering what I can do to get the ethernet to work? Also what would be a good wireless card for a G4? would the wireless card from my hack-intosh work in it or not? Thanks you! Synaesthesia
Also what would be a good wireless card for a G4? would the wireless card from my hack-intosh work in it or not? Yeah, I heard people were buying Broadcom based cards for their Powermac G4's - it's cheaper than an Airport. Check the Wiki HCL Don't know what to do about the Ethernet, maybe you can buy a PCI card for that too... mlgower
The Linksys 54G Wireless PCI card works, I had one in my G4. It uses a Realtek Driver Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111878-power-mac-g4/#findComment-792373 Share on other sites
Synaesthesia
Right. Some Atheros chipsets work too. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111878-power-mac-g4/#findComment-792501 Share on other sites
