pedro_sandchez
I have a pretty old sony vaio that I am trying to use as a server to store my data on (large amounts of moves and music have filled my laptop to capacity) I purchased a d-link 5-port switch. It is 10/100mbps, not gigabyte networking. I have it setup and can control the sony remotely just fine. The problem is that it is pretty slow. As in, when I open a window it takes a second to fuly load and sometimes sits there completely blank for a second or two. Is this because I am using a 10/100 switch? If I wanted to go to a gigabyte switch would I have to get new network adapters for the server and my laptop? also, how can I transfer files from one computer to the next with this setup? I'm using realvnc by the way. thanks pedros Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11131-questions-about-vnc/ Share on other sites
