Aww {censored}, it requires 10.5.3 ;)

Edit:

Heh, nevermind - I edited the tgInstall.plist inside the installer to change the requirement to 10.5.0, then did the same for Info.plist inside the actual game. Works fine with my 10.5.2 installation :hysterical:

Some guys got it to work on 10.5.2 by editing the tgInstall.plist. They changed the minimumSystemVersion from 10.5.3 to 10.5.2. I tried to do the same thing but I can't seem to save the plist, always get the window with this error "The document “tgInstall.plist” could not be saved." Is this some kinda of permission error? really want to get this working.

Hey all.

I'm having trouble getting my legally purchased Complete version running on OSX.

I've replaced all the files in the OSX trial version with the ones from my XP complete install, and all I get is the spore loading screen, then it quits.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Files overwritten were: CSA_Audio, Graphics and Main.package, and SporeCreatureCreator.exe

Ideas?

I've gone and done that with the trial, just copying the CSA_Main.package gives at least more than the original amount.

It'll have to do until someone works out how to do it properly :censored2:

yep. Anyone interested on creating a sporepedia for insanelymac users? not too sure what section it falls under. Anyway I've 7 cool creatures so far.

CSA_Main.pkg

1st DL the SCC demo, open the SCC dmg file. When the SCC window opens, drag the installer to ur desktop (installer shud be 1Mb+) right click, show package contents, and navigate to /contents/resources/tgInstall.plist.

Open tgInstall.plist and expand the root, scroll all the way down till u see "MinimumSystemVersion" and change the value to ur OSX version, then save.

Now launch the Installer which is on ur Desktop, let it install.

Once Installed navigate to applications/spore/. Again RC SCC and show package contents, navigate to Contents/info.plist and again find the MinimumSystemVersion ..etc, save.

Now to add the retail parts, while still in the Contents folder, navigate to Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/EA Games/Spore/Data/ and replace the Original file with the one I included above.

Done. Happy Sporing, and plz do stay away from pen!s looking monsters, I don't want my planet to be polluted with them when the game comes out. :D

I have updated to 10.5.3 and could intall spore but when I try to run the game I get the following message:

"Could not create the Graphics Device. Direct X is unavailabe. [1002]"

What should I do to solve this?

Why not just get the Mac version?

I get the same error message on my hackintosh

"Could not create the Graphics Device. Direct X is unavailabe. [1002]"

I updated to 10.5.3 so that it would let me install, but even running a single monitor it still gives me that message.

Fix for this? I am having the identical issue.

Same issue here. Running Kaly 10.5.2 base install updated to 10.5.4.

Does anyone have it working on 10.5.3 or 10.5.4?

Does anyone know if this issue happening with official Apple hardware?

EDIT - Issue Solved:

The upgrade procedure from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 broke Core Image and Quartz Extreme. Reinstalling the video driver re-enabled CI/QE and solved the problem.

Time to create me some creatures!
