Hi guys. Just downloaded the above image and have not had any luck in installation. I have burnt the image to a dual layer dvd. It will not boot when restarting the notebook (HP Pavilion dv6746tx). I have read all I can on google, but cannot understand what to do next. Is it that I have to patch the image to boot and install.

Any help/new direction/links would be most helpful!

What distribution did you download? I don't know of any that are dual layer. that COULD be your problem (an improper burn).

the original osx can´t be installed on regular hardware, you need a prepared version like "kalyways" oder "iatkos".

a good way to start is to have a look in the hardware compatibility lists (HCL) and see which one is the best for your hardware.
