blkblt
I turned off the "Power off drives when possible" setting, and indeed, this seems to resolve the issue!! Thanks to the person who suggested it! /blkblt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11059-cant-eject-burned-dvds/page/2/#findComment-110023 Share on other sites
Andrei
I just want to note that liggy and dee's firmwares for Nec drives have same issue as legal firmware. blkblt
Can someone *without* an NEC drive do the "leave a CD in for an hour and then see if it wakes up correctly" test? - Make sure power saving is set to "turn off drives when possible" - Put a burned CD in the drive - Don't access it for an hour - Double click on the drive, and then try to eject it Thanks, /blkblt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11059-cant-eject-burned-dvds/page/2/#findComment-110212 Share on other sites
Proteo
OK, I did the test and it worked fine. I repeated it leaving the disc inside for three hours and again, everything works ok. lonerdj
I have the same problem with my drive too. I have a NEC 3540A with liggy&dee's firmware (latest one the last i checked). Initially i thought it was my patchburn installation for the drive. I reverted it back to unsupported and the problem still exist. I have yet to try turning off the "put harddrive to sleep when possible" fix. Will do now. lonerdj
I don't mean to bump this topic. But here are my results: With "put harddrive to sleep when possible" turned off... without patchfix, drive ejected even over night. with patchfix, drive ejected, didnt test overnight but it should be fine. Thanks for your "fix". It appears that the option for "put harddrive to sleep when possible" should be named as "put all ATA drives to sleep when possible".
