WACOMalt
So I bought iPartition, not expecting any issues at all. It doesn't work on my hackintosh, which I understand. Apparently it needs TRUE EFI to work properly. Anyways, I sent them a message about it, and this is their response, if you are interested. Anyone know of a program that will work on my hackintosh to do the following: Resize a Fat32 partition on my portable Drive Use the new empty space to create a HFS Mac Partition. The program can be either for OS X, or Linux, or even XP. Can Partition Manager in live linux distros do this? We don't support "hackintosh" machines. In point of fact, we *can't* support thembecause we have a license agreement with Apple that prohibits us from doing so. Further, using OS X on a PC is a breach of the license agreement, and as software developers ourselves we clearly aren't going to advocate a situation where people are ignoring some other developer's license. It doesn't really matter whether that other developer is a lone guy or a multi-billion dollar company like Apple, frankly... it's still wrong, either way. As regards the system requirements, they say "400MHz PowerPC or better or any Intel Mac". A PC is not a Mac. They may (these days) share *some* hardware, but there are plenty of dissimilarities. FWIW, the crashes are caused by bugs in some of the code the hackintosh people use to make the machine run OS X. We will obviously endeavour to fix any genuine bugs that people report in our code, but I have to say that making it work on unsupportable systems like these is not a high priority for us. Finally, I'll add that Macs aren't expensive these days; the same money will generally buy you a similarly spec'd Mac to what you'd get if you spent it on a PC, only the Mac will be better built and will run OS X properly (and legally) out of the box. I even saw a recent review of the Psystar illegal clone machine where it was outperformed by even the lowliest Mac, aside from 3D graphics where the third-party card in the Psystar was faster. Kind regards, Alastair Houghton Oh, and on a random note, anyone find it funny that This ad shows up on a forum devoted to helping others install illegal copies of OS X? vaporATX
I hope they refunded your money. You're not missing much... Coriolis writes garbage software aimed at fleecing recent Mac converts. Just read the awful reviews of their garbage on VersionTracker. For Example: iDefrag is not only totally useless, but is dangerous.
