I am stuck at the dvd booting screen showing the following mesage: Kernel Version: Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.0 : Tue Feb 26 21:21:24 SCT 2008; made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 I have tried all kernels but end up on same message.... nthng happens after that My system specs: Mainboard: Intel 915GM Processor: Intel Celeron 360 (1.4 Ghz) Memory: 512+256 MB Ram Drives: 40 GB Toshiba Model:Toshiba MK4025GAS Optical: Inbuilt No Idea (HL-DT-STRW/DVD GCC-4244N) Video Card: GMA900 (research ) Network: Realtek 8139 (detected) Please help me.... edit: added complete message edit2: i use KALWAY 10.5.2 DVD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SticMAC™ Posted June 14, 2008 Share Posted June 14, 2008 Hi did you press F8, then at the boot prompt type "-v"(without the quotes), this should give you some indication of the error! You can also try, "-v -f -x" just to see what happens if it reloads everything! him89 Posted June 14, 2008 Author Share Posted June 14, 2008 i have tried -x -v cpus=1 and all kernels but ends up at same place.... will try -f now....and post if it works.....regards,him89. i have tried -f too....finally end ups at the same place....and i see one more thng..... it says some thing bout a not able to find a firewire devices security so setting security to deafault mode.... does this have anythng to do with it? regards, him89. him89 Posted June 14, 2008 Author Share Posted June 14, 2008 doing some research i have found that u need an external monitor on a 915gm chipset and also that the problem i am facing is a kernel panic.... any wayz to get around the kernel panic.... please help me.... regards, him89. edit: the kernel panic is at /System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext any way to get around it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
