djmatix
So i've gotten my little mini mac going and love it! I noticed recently that the computer likes to sit there and blip the hard disc light. I dont know what its doing, I cant hear the hard disc read so i'm its not doing much, but its annoying and I know it shouldnt be doing that. I've had leo4all v3, and kalyway installed and they both do it. I've done some research but havent found anyone with the same problem. I did find a linux user that did though, same exact symptoms...but i'm not sure if its the same thing. You can read about it here: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/linux-new...-2-seconds.html any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm so glad i've got this little guy going, i've always been a PC person but have come to enjoy the innovative OS that is mac.
vaporATX
Mac Mini doesn't have a hard drive activity light. Are you talking about on an external drive plugged into it? If so, that's spotlight doing that.
djmatix
check out my signature. I apologize for my use of an existing "apple" product when I called it a "mac mini", I was refering to the size of my OSx86 mac. It is a PC, running kalyway. http://www.m2-motion.com/macpix/ thanks for your input though!
serj
Check if there are processes that hog up CPU, they might be shaking your hard drive as well. Go and see what is going on using "lsof" and "top"
