help! i just finished installing the os on a laptop (older HP Compaq nx9020,) and had no issues during the installation. now whenever the laptop boots up, it goes to the apple splash screen with a grey background. i can hear the music play, and after a while, a voice starts wanting to walk me through a setup for some sort of voice option. if i boot up and press F8 and run -v, it stops as:

Jun 8 03:53:30 localhost configd[50]: No AirPort Ddriver found.

i'm using the following release in my installation: Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].

the laptop specs are Intel Celeron M 1.4GHz with a 40 GB HD and 512 MB of RAM. whe i boot the laptop, apple says that my video card is Intel®8852GM/852GME/855GM/855GME

i'm totally new to anything Mac OS related, so any help at all would be great!

i got the same problem!, please help!!,

my system is a laptop too, for HP, AMD turion x64, 80gb HDD ATA, 512 ram, and a wifi card, conexant i think.

PD: if i got any answer i post here

alright. it looks like i can give a bit more information on my setup. i'm another error before the No AirPort Driver found. several lines up, the following occurs (under -v on boot,):

June 9 03:11:13 kextd[42]: kmod_control/start failed for com.apple.driver/AppleIntel915; destroying kmod

June 9 03:11:13 kextd[42]: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntel915.kext

GFX0: family specific matching fails

display: family specific matching fails

so to me, this sounds like i need a different driver for my intel intergrated video card. so, my new questions are, 1) where can i get the proper .kext, and 2) once i have the proper .kext, how the heck do i install it when i can't get logged in to mac os?

thanks, in advance, to anyone who can point me in the right direction! like i said before, i'm new to all of the mac os stuff, but i'm more than willing to learn
