frankline
Hi I've had a fairly painless time of it, installing Kalyway 10.5.2 on my newly-built maching and upgrading with Kalyway 10.5.3. All seems to be working well. The only previous issue was LAN and this was solved (after use of this forum's search facility) by the purchase of a Micronet EtherFast LAN Adapter (PCI card) - bought from Maplin (UK), the best £9.99 I've ever spent (!) Now that I can access the internet and my local network I'm almost completely satisfied. My Macbook can transfer files with the Hackintosh etc. The only obstacle is with using dot Mac's Back to My Mac - the Hackintosh can view the screen of the Macbook but using Screen Sharing but once the Macbook is used to select Screen Sharing on the Hack' it causes a kernel panic (on the Hack) and it's all over. Does anyone have any advice on solving this one? And thanks to everyone's contributions to Insanely Mac and any OSx86 information that's out there. It's helped me enormously to get the the healthy position I am in so fast. landwomble
awesome ribber, thanks. is this safe to apply? can you backout if it messes it up? i've got multi res already using the Bike Town update... to update, i thought "fvck it" and applied it. graphics acceleration much better over VnC, if i could work out how to disable vine server i'd test with apple SS. looks like you've found a winner, many thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/109435-back-to-my-mac-and-screen-sharing-kernel-panic/#findComment-974247 Share on other sites
Rybber
You're welcome I don't know about backup. I just know it works perfect here. My Hackintosh works as a HTPC, which I access via Apple Screen Sharing. It works like a charm. BUT: I use Plex, and when Plex+SS is running, SS uses almost 100% CPU, so they're not compatible. All other GFX stuff works nicely and best of all - no GFX related kernel panics! cc8772850
I just found this email thread. I recently installed 10.5.7 on one of my PCs. It uses GMA 950. I found only 2 problems. 1. The video only displays 1024x768 resolution 2. Whenever I try to VNC TO the MAC from a Windows system, the MAC crashes with the "You must restart..." message. Does this new GMA950.kewt file fix both problems? I could not be certain. timbojill
I am new to the hacintosh game. My Laptop works perfectly under Snow Leopard. The only problem is a need to hook up an external monitor. When the external monitor is hooked up I can change the resolutions. If I install the chipset driver that someone posted will that fix the problem ?
